The first people in space according to Czechoslovak media

This thesis focused on how propaganda was used in the Czechoslovak media and how that directly relatedd to the first people in space. The aim is an analysis of celebrities of Soviet state system including Yuri Gagarin, Valentina Tereshkova and also John Glenn for comparison. The thesis discusses how these people were promoted and constructed into cult heroes in Eastern, Western and Third World countries. The secondary literature of this subject was not yet analysed and the author wants to use it for further study. The contemporary sources are used in the press - Rude pravo, Mlady svet, Dikobraz, ABC mladych prirodovedcu a techniku and the Ceskoslovensky vojak.
The creation of the image of the race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation+Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972

Bachelor thesis "The Creation of the Image of the Race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation + Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972" deals with the development of the Moonrace between United States of America and their rival Soviet Union as it is described on the pages of the above-mentioned periodicals. These periodicals mostly contain topics that can be characterized as popular scientific or even purely scientific. In their early years they were generally oriented upon aviation and parachuting. During the 1960s as the public interest for space was growing the periodicals adopted astronautics into its range of topics as well. This paper tries to reveal if the mediation of the Moonrace topic somehow twisted its general image for the sake of USA or Soviet Union. At the same level it aims to tell what were the reasons behind and how much space did the Moonrace and its development occupy on the pages of these periodicals. This paper methodically analyzes the contents of each periodical that is tied to the topic of Moonrace. Afterwards it carries out comparisons and generalizations based on the results of the previous analysis. Master's thesis "Communication strategy of NASA during space programs Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs in 1958-1972" is a summary of the work of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the field of external communications. This diploma thesis maps the communication strategy during the first space programs Mercury, Gemini and Apollo in the 50s-70s. of the 20th century. It also puts it in a wider historical, social and media context. It is also devoted to the emergence of NASA, to individual programs and the emergence of space interest in the United States.
